How to request a link

Every webmaster knows that the best way to promote their site, increase traffic, achieve better page rank and search engine placement is by acquiring quality inbound links to their site. The problem is getting them.

What is a relevant or quality link?

A quality link would be defined as a link from a well written, content rich relevant site (a site that is related in content to your site) with at least some page rank. Google ranks each site listed in their search engine with a quality rank from 0 to 10. The higher the rank the higher the quality of the site according to Google. You can find out where each page that you visit ranks by downloading the free or if you use Internet Explorer you can download just the tool bar. I personally prefer the Firefox browser.

Note: Webmasters should use more than one browser when building web pages. Test your pages in each web browser because not all browsers display pages the same.

Finding quality backlinks

The best way to find quality back links is to do a search. Simply type in keywords relevant to you site and let the search engine do it for you. Visit the sites and find the ones that you would most like to make a link request. Once you have done this, the next step is to contact the webmaster with your request.
